Children of FPC

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

At Frankston Presbyterian Church we value and welcome children just as Jesus did. We love to see children grow in thier understanding and enjoyment of God’s salvation through Jesus.

Kids in Church

As a valuable part of God’s Kingdom, children are most welcome in our services. We encourage your children to participate during the service to the best of their ability. We also provide children with a sermon notes page where they are able to write or draw about something they heard in the sermon. We want all children to enjoy church rather than simply endure it! We don’t expect your child to sit perfectly and be silent. Our congregation understands this and welcomes all children. We understand that it can be hard for energetic little ones for the whole duration of the service. The hall just behind the main auditorium is available for parents to take their young children if they need a break. The hall is fitted with a television and speakers so you can still participate in the service with your child if you would like. We also provide a Sunday School class during the sermon time for children if they would like the passage from the sermon taught to them in an age-appropriate way.

After the service we love all the kids to play and have fun with other children. There is a secure outdoor area where they may run around and play. We provide a morning tea which the children are most welcome to enjoy.

Frankston kids sermon notes for church

We have ‘Sermon Notes for Kids’ pages so they can write or draw about something they heard in the sermon. These are available in the foyer with pencils and a clipboard for all children to make use of as they wish.

Sunday School

Sunday School runs during school terms in the church hall. All children aged from 3 years to Grade 6 are welcome.

Our Sunday School runs in two time slots so you can choose the time that works best with your family.

The children learn of God’s plan of salvation through Bible stories, songs, memory verses and crafts in an age-apprioriate way.

Before the Worship Service - 9:15am to 9:50am

Runs just before the 10am service and is broken into four classes according to age. These classes are intended for families who like to have their children with them for the whole worship service including the sermon time.

During the sermon time - 10:30 - 11:00

Children leave the service during the third song just before the sermon. In this class the children learn from the same passage that their parents are learning from in the sermon in a way that is more applicable to a child.

Frankston Presbyterian encourages the practice of Family Worship in your homes

Family Worship

At Frankston Presbyterian Church we encourage and support families worshipping together each day in their homes. We believe this is a great way of teaching your children to worship God through singing, reading the Bible and praying together. If you would like to know more about how you can have a family worship time in your own household, Pastor Jared has put together a series of four short videos to watch in your own time to help you get started in this worthwhile practice.

Frankston Presbyterian Church is a place where all children are valued and protected. All staff and volunteers who work with children have a current Working with Children Check as well as training and accreditation of Safe Church - Presbyterian Church of Victoria. Please feel free to read the Safe Church Policy and the Safe Church Code of Conduct.
